Magazine Plan

This is my original plan for my music magazine, most of the time when I am designing my magazine for real I will stick to this plan exactly, however there will be times were it will be differently to this plan because I have for example, changed my mind about something, or have decided it doesn’t look professional enough.

The same font will be used for the actually text of the magazine throughout, this will help to give a professional look, and it will also help the magazine to flow. If the text was not the same, it could appear that certain pages look like they shouldn’t be with each other in the same magazine. I intend to use a bold, squared type font for the magazine masthead and for the headings on each page. I also intend to use the same font for the main text on each page. However I want to use a slightly less square font for the sub heading on each page, to achieve a contrast with the masthead or heading.

The size of the text may vary in certain circumstances to achieve different effects, such as attracting the audience’s attention or making it looks more important, but on the whole it will be the same.

The bar code will be positioned in the bottom right hand corner, this is because this is where bar codes usually are on magazines. This makes are magazine look professional because it will look like the other big brand magazines. This position is also out of the way from any images or text so the audience will not be distracted away from the focus of the front cover.

The headlines on the front cover of the magazine will include some factual information, some writing hinting about gossip on artists, and also some sort of free poster or download. This will appeal to all of our target audience and will definitely attract the audience’s attention. Furthermore, in each issue of tune, the magazine logo ‘ tune’ will be positioned in the same place, although this can look repetitive, it makes the magazine look more professional because it shows consistency throughout our magazine and makes it look more concise.

The main front cover will differ in each issue but only in terms of structure and content. The same colour and style will be used throughout every issue to show consistency and our professionalism.
